1. Comstock Estates HOA CC&R Section 9A.07 allows political signs 90 days prior to the election date on which candidates or issues will be voted upon. Further, RSCO 38-33.3 allows for political signs to be up 7 days past the election date. This equals 97 days total for each candidate or issue balloted.
2. The Board also wishes to clarify that, as long as the display does not obstruct the view of any homeowner nor presents a potential safety hazard, the display of the American flag on a unit owner’s property, in a window of the unit, or on a balcony adjoining the unit is acceptable if the American flag is displayed in a manner consistent with the federal flag code, P.L. 94-344; 90 stat. 810; 4 U.S.C. secs. 4 to 10. Additionally, the display of service flags denoting the service of the owner or occupant of the unit, or of a member of the owner’s or occupant’s immediate family, in the active or reserve military service of the United States are also allowed.
